Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see – Neil Postman

Pot project part one

While we are home alone, we have a number of projects. One of them is making some concrete pots. We jumped on Etsy to look at kits. I try to buy from sellers in Australia because, you know, nativism and because it reduces the carbon footprint. I know, concrete is not exactly environmentally friendly.

We are also having some renovations under our house to turn an empty space into an office and studio. So, we thought the pots would be a nice space warming idea.

We purchased this kit from a seller in Victoria. It contained everything we needed to make the pots.

Due to concrete dust being toxic, I mixed the water in but the children mixed when there was no risk of dust inhalation.

Waiting overnight for them to harden was tricky for little ones. I’ll post the finished products tomorrow when they’re painted.
